Every universe has characters who want to run things. Spyte Usurper is one of them.
Where MeldMaster is defined by what he can do, Spyte is defined by what he wants. And what he wants is leverage. He is a strategist by nature, a collector of debts and advantages, someone who maps the distance between where he is and where he intends to be.
In the MetaTravelers universe, that kind of ambition gets you far. It also makes you dangerous to be around.
Where Spyte Comes From
Spyte Usurper emerged from the outer chain worlds, places that run on different rules than the ones most travelers are used to. Out there, the currency is information and obligation. Spyte learned early how to trade in both.
His story in the MetaTravelers comics, written by the creator of Guardians of the Galaxy, is one of long-game maneuvering. He rarely acts without knowing three moves ahead. When he does act directly, something has already gone exactly as he planned.
The “Usurper” in his name is not a title he gave himself. It is what others started calling him after a particular sequence of events that the comics detail across several issues. He has never corrected anyone who uses it.
Designing the Figure
Spyte has some of the most intricate surface detail of any figure in Legendari Wave 1.
A character built on strategy and control needs to look like it. Every design decision on this figure communicates precision: the layering of armor elements, the specific weight the sculpt carries in certain areas, the way the paint treatment makes some surfaces recede and others advance. None of this is accidental.
Our sculptors worked from comic reference across multiple issues to get the character-specific details right. The paint team used a wash-heavy approach on the textured surfaces to bring out the depth of the sculpt at figure scale.
The result is a figure that looks like it knows something you do not. Which is accurate to the character.
