Before MeldMaster was a 7-inch action figure with 29 points of articulation, he was a question: what would a being look like if it could fuse with any technology it encountered?
That question became one of the most visually complex characters in the MetaTravelers universe, and one of the most technically challenging figures to produce.
Who Is MeldMaster?
MeldMaster exists at the intersection of organic and machine. A traveler from the chain worlds who discovered, through circumstance rather than choice, the ability to interface directly with any technology. Not to control it from the outside. To become part of it.
This ability made him valuable. It also made him a target. In the MetaTravelers universe, the line between useful and dangerous is thinner than most beings want to admit.
His story runs through multiple MetaTravelers comics, written by the creator of Guardians of the Galaxy. Each appearance reveals more about what it costs to carry an ability that others want to weaponize.
Designing the Figure
Translating MeldMaster into a physical figure meant solving problems that do not exist in a comic panel.
In the comics, his interface points, the places where organic meets machine, are suggested through art. In a figure, those same details need to exist in three-dimensional space, at scale, with actual texture and depth. Our sculptors worked through multiple rounds to get those transition zones right: organic shapes giving way to mechanical geometry without looking like a kit bash.
The color palette required careful layering. MeldMaster’s tones shift across his body, and paint that reads cleanly in a flat illustration can go muddy at figure scale. Our paint team spent extra time on the gradients.
The result is a figure that holds up under close inspection. There are details here that most figures at this price point would not attempt.
MeldMaster in Wave 1
MeldMaster is one of the hero figures in Legendari Wave 1, the first physical release in the MetaTravelers universe.
Wave 1 is a limited run. When it is gone, it is gone.
